Husband in Jail, Wife Raped

Four men took advantage of a situation when a woman’s husband, a mason, was in jail, by raping the woman, a mother of three, on Friday (January 18). The 29-year-old filed a case with the police station the next morning. She recognised Zakir, 28, a local grocery trader, but could not identify the other three. The four men forcefully entered the house, tied her up along with the children, and raped her after which the fled the scene.

Kabirhat police station Officer-in-Charge Mirza Md Hasan confirmed the incident. He said that the victim has been sent to Noakhali General Hospital for treatment. One of the rapists, Zakir Hossain has been arrested.
