Dimensions of the Role The GNB Advisor will serve as the senior manager of the GNB Secretariat and report to  Head of Influencing as Secretariat Lead (Plan International Bangladesh). The incumbent will have functional relationship with the focal person from other members of the network. He/she will also maintain a functional relationship with relevant Heads of Programme, specialists, operational teams, MERL and influence team in Plan International for effective coordination and joint action.  He/she will work in close collaboration with steering committee of GNB national partnership and GNB Global Chapter. On a day-to-day basis, the GNB Advisor will oversee the coordination and informing sharing actions of the partnership as well as represent GNB in national, regional and international forums related to advocacy to end CEFM. Accountabiliites 
  • Establish and continue strategic relationship with relevant ministries that have stake for CEFM and bridging of CSO’s voice.
  • Accelerate the mechanism to collect evidence, best practices of member organizations for evidence base advocacy and influencing.
  • Enhance collaboration among GNB and other platforms that monitor human rights (UPR, CEDAW, CRC) on CEFM point for collective achievement.
  • Promote youth leadership on CEFM of member organization
  • Assist in the positioning of GNB as a “leading” combating CEFM network supporting civil society to more effectively.
Encourage and support the establishment of strong working relationships with national and regional-based stakeholders and allies
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with GNB global network and disseminate briefing notes and reports.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships including national and local governments; UN agencies; institutional donors; development banks; academic & research bodies; media; partner organisations; to position CEFM on the agendas.
  • Manage the undertaking of needs / capacity assessments of GNB members and relevant national/ district civil society networks, associations and alliances
  • Support the establishment of new membership and collaboration with other networks and platforms
  • Support resource mobilization and coordination with donor community and upholding GNB’s portfolio.
Coordination of the National Partnership
  • Coordination among members including convening quarterly meetings of the Steering Committee, general members meeting, annual meetings other workshops as necessary.
  • Consistent and transparent communication and information sharing among members.
  • Six monthly update of the group address of contact details.
  • Support in operationalizing the action plan of the Alliance, including by coordinating between working groups and actively engaging member organizations.
  • Support in fundraising.
  • Support in ensuring that all members are aligned with the vision, mission and core values of the Partnership.
  • Coordinate with the global secretariat to carry forward the global agenda of the Girls Not Brides partnership and communicate about developments in Bangladesh.
  • Maintain the documentation of all relevant correspondence (meeting minutes, reports, letters, etc…
Operational responsibilities to implement the annual work plan\  
  • Strengthen GNB operational and administrative capacities, particularly the skills and capacities of members, to improve collaboration within and across districts and facilitation of GNB programmes and activities undertaken by members combat CEFM and promote girls rights
  • Support the planning of AGM, trainings and events to support the outworking of GNB objectives
  • Establish and maintain healthy relationships and two-way communications with global and national platform and also with external actors.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of GNB Bangladesh operational plans, activities and associated budgets
  • Oversee hosting arrangements for regional events/ conference, prepare including MOUs, budgets and contractual arrangements
  • Thought leadership and active participant in relevant internal cross-team working groups.
Technical Expertise, Skills and Knowledge  Knowledge Education Experience: Master’s degree preferably in social science, Sociology, Development Studies, Gender and Development, International Affairs, Law or other relevant field. Professional experience: 4-5 years’ experience in senior management position especially in the field of girls rights and development in any development organization. Experience in rights based program development and management on women’s’ and girls’ is mandatory.  Experience in representing agencies at high level externally. To assist in the second SNI Co-Creation Conference, Share-Net International and Share-Net Bangladesh are seeking the services of a consultant. This consultant is going to perform mapping analysis and write a narrative review on the topic ‘SRHR for Adolescents and Youth’, to assist in the development of content for the CCC. CONSULTANT PROFILE What we are looking for: 1. Five years of professional experiences, in the field of public health and SRHR & Gender, especially on adolescents and youth, in low- and middle-income countries 2. Share-Net International is looking for a consultant to review and revise its communication strategy. If you have a wide range of professional experience in developing, monitoring, and evaluating communication strategies in an international environment, this could be for you.

Process and deliverables

Share-Net International would like to recruit a communication consultant to undertake this review. This person will guide the local consultants in Bangladesh, Jordan, and Burundi. Local consultants in the hubs will collect data about the local context which will be shared with the consultant to inform the overall communication strategy of Share-Net International, and the consultant will take care of the data collection for Share-Net Netherlands. The hired consultant is expected to:
  1. Deliverable 1: Undertake a review of good practices on knowledge platform communication strategies.
  2. Deliverable 2: Develop a plan of action that highlights the strategies that will be used during the assignment. This action plan includes guidelines for local consultants.
  3. Deliverable 3: Undertake rapid needs assessment with the Share-Net International hub in the Netherlands (Share-Net Netherlands), its members, and secretariat staff (survey and online interviews).
  4. Deliverable 4: Develop an overall Communication Strategy for Share-Net international incorporating the Netherlands and with input from the local consultants in Jordan, Bangladesh and Burundi, and a plan to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the strategy. The document will include the following
  • Organizational objectives and specific communication objectives
  • Summary of needs assessment
  • Stakeholders and target audiences
  • Key messages
  • Communication channels
  • Plan of Action with tools/tactics/approaches
  • Any budget needed for implementation (if needed)
  • Measuring and Reporting
  • Recommendations for each of the hub’s communication strategies

Consultant profile

  • Professional experience in developing, monitoring, and evaluating communication strategies and social media, preferably in large networks.
  • Master level degree in communication science.
  • Experience with network organisations (structure, governance, the role of members, the role of secretariat).
  • Familiar with international development and/or Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and/or gender equality.
  • Affinity with Share-Net International’s mission and vision.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in spoken/written English.

About Share-Net Netherlands

Share-Net Netherlands is the Dutch knowledge platform for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and one of the country hubs of Share-Net International. Share-Net Netherlands is hosted by the KIT Royal Tropical Institute and has 27 individual members and 38 organisational members from sectors including NGOs, universities, knowledge institutes, governmental and private sector which work in low- and middle- income countries and in the Netherlands with a focus on SRHR. We operate on a paid membership – based on the annual turnover of the organisations – and partnership model, but also rely on external investors for financial stability. As of March 1st Share-Net Netherlands is looking for a Community of Practice Facilitator (28 hours).

Job Description

As the Share-Net Netherlands Communities of Practice (CoP) Facilitator, you will be leading the Communities of Practice of the Dutch hub. The platform is made up of several Communities of Practice (CoPs), previously called working groups, focusing on specific themes within SRHR. These CoPs organize a large variety of knowledge sharing activities, such as lectures, debriefings and consultations. In 2019, SN-NL had18 CoPs on a variety of topics like Child Marriage, Infertility, Contraception and abortion and Maternal Health. In 2020, Share-Net Netherlands aims to expand the number of CoPs and to focus on topics such as sexual pleasure, and gender equality. KIT is hosting the secretariat and is responsible for human resource management of the Share-Net team. KIT is  inviting  applicants  to apply  for the position of Share-Net Netherlands CoP Facilitator.

Your Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all CoP activities of Share-Net Netherlands
  • Assist with annual planning and budgeting of activities of CoPs
  • Plan and support CoP activities within allocated budget
  • Provide knowledge management support to CoPs, e.g. developing knowledge products, implementing those
  • Steer desk reviews/literature reviews/mappings of CoPs
  • Supervise the work of CoPs and ensure that they remain active
  • Give extra support for new CoPs and facilitate upcoming and urgent initiatives
  • Ensuring adequate follow up is taking place re meetings and other activities from the CoPs
  • Design evaluations for meetings / activities that took place
  • Ensuring the CoP page on the SN-NL website is up to date and filled with all recent information such as reports, events, contact details etc.
  • Report on activities of the CoPs for annual reports
  • Write reports, together with CoP members, on organized activities

Profile

We offer

NWO-WOTRO Science for Global Development, which is part of the Dutch Research Council, is commissioning an external final review of the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) research programme. The final review should focus on accountability and learning, notably provide an assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of the activities implemented in the programme in view of the programme’s aims and objectives. The deadline for application is 3 February 2020.

The Reproductive Health Specialist will assist the Team Leader in general for implementation of the PPME mandated responsibilities and be responsible specifically for: -Representing in QAT and take vital role in reproductive care services quality assurances -Undertaking routine monitoring of the services delivery especially related to delivery and nutritional status -Undertaking routine monitoring in addition to delivery in indoor and outdoor services provided and assess quality and suggest improvements in systemic and medical procedures and patient management -Check whether standard protocols as applicable are followed during delivery care (normal and Caesarian section), maintenance of hygienic standards, proper sterilization of all equipment used -If mothers and child are properly served as needed at various stages of delivery to the discharge and beyond -Holding dissemination workshops with the respective service delivery staff of PANGOs on related issues for rectification through dissemination of the different findings, wrong doing, mistakes, irregularities, and non-compliance of standard protocols -Preparing manuals on general mistakes and overlooks, irregularities, non-compliance on protocols; suggest how to ensure that the services are delivered for highest quality standards in the project environment and opportunities, describe the difficulties and dangers of the observed non-compliance and irregularities and mistakes. -Undertaking monitoring in ensuring quality of care services in CRHCCs and PHCCs; -Monitoring of Screening & Management of Infant & Child Health; -Monitoring of compliance with national standard diagnostic services; -Liaise, collaborate, and consult with all project partners and beneficiaries, arrange and attend meetings producing reports/minutes of meetings as necessary; -Create and adapt high-quality, data collection tools including monitoring tools and forms, survey questionnaires, qualitative data collection, facility assessment and supervision tools, and training materials; -Assist Team Leader in data analysis, and report writing; -Staff management and linkage with different governments, NGO, and donor agencies; -Disseminate findings and provide feedback to the stakeholders for decision making and prepare manuals as needed for service providing staff.

Educational Requirements

-Master of Science (MSc) in Public Health -MBBS preferably female with Master's degree in public health with diploma in Reproductive Health.

The SRHR team within the Health Unit supports organizations and governments to realize better and inclusive access to quality SRH services, promote adolescent SRHR, reduce teenage pregnancy and child marriage, improve maternal health and strengthen HIV prevention and care, especially for key populations. To achieve meaningful change, we build our work on a foundation of rights, participation and gender equality.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and or collaborate with colleagues on the development and implementation of advisory, evaluation and research projects related to SRHR in low- and middle income countries.
  • Lead and support the acquisition to further develop KIT’s portfolio in the area of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights.
  • Provide support to the monitoring and evaluation of SRHR projects coordinated by KIT.
  • Contribute to KIT Health strategy and organization, e.g. through maintaining and expansion of client relations, networking and knowledge management activities.

You have:

  • At least a PhD degree in a relevant related discipline with at least 2 years field experience in low and middle income countries in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights and public health, and/or with international organisations.
  • OR a master’s degree or equivalent and at least 3- 5 years field experience low and middle income countries in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights and public health, and/or with international organisations.
  • Good understanding of mixed method research and especially quantitative research.
  • Excellent entrepreneurial, organization, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated creative and analytical writing skills.
  • Positive and result-oriented attitude, ability to work with different disciplinary teams, passion and commitment, open personality and eager to learn and share learning.
  • Facilitation and training skills will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written in French will be a requirement.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel overseas for short (1-3 weeks) missions, several times a year

APA is seeking a consultant for the development of a regional analysis on SRHR in Asia and the Pacific. The analysis is intended highlight the neglected areas of SRHR, such as comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), access to safe and legal abortion, and to highlight the voices of marginalized groups. INTRODUCTION The Asia Pacific Alliance for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (APA), under the umbrella of Planned Parenthood Association of Thailand (PPAT), mobilizes civil society advocacy across the region to hold governments and other stakeholders accountable for their obligations and commitments to realize the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of all persons in Asia and the Pacific.This consultancy is intended to support APA’s advocacy work in the Asia Pacific region. The objective of the consultancy is to develop a regional analysis focusing on sexual rights in Asia and the Pacific and to highlight the voices of marginalized groups, for use as an advocacy tool for APA Coordinating Office, network members and potential members to undertake rights-based advocacy with key government representatives, policy makers and other stakeholders. SCOPE OF WORK The goal of this regional publication is to address a gap in sexual rights knowledge by collating data and presenting an analysis of the current situation of sexual rights in the region of Asia Pacific, and to cover neglected areas of SRHR, such as: CSE and sexuality of young people, access to safe and legal abortion, eliminating discrimination on the basis of SOGIESC, and the right to a pleasurable sex life. A participatory methodology should be proposed to engage with members of the APA alliance, and partners and extended networks through the development of the publication to gather and verify evidence. The consultant will identify /acknowledge gaps in data and propose alternatives. This publication has two main objectives:  To produce a regional analysis of the current context of sexual rights in Asia and the Pacific using agreed upon indicators and a participatory process with APA members and extended networks  To highlight the voice of marginalized groups through selected case studies DELIVERABLES  Inception report within a week of contract with proposed method, timeline and detailed deliverable.  Regional assessment of sexual rights in Asia and the Pacific. TIMEFRAME  A maximum of 30 working days, expected to commence in December 2019 or as soon as possible.
