Procedural Obstructions in Delivering Sexuality Education

In delivering sexuality education within every society, ongoing difficulties in education provision is always a barrier. Mostly the teachers are either insufficiently trained and supported or overcharged. Additionally, both communities and schools are often affected by a high prevalence of sexual exploitation and gender-based violence, which impact on learners’ lives. It is also directly contradicting positive messages that could be passed through effective, rights-based sexuality education.

This report is the result of The Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) Evaluation Expert Meeting which brought together partners, practitioners, researchers and advocates from around the world to discuss the state of the art of monitoring and evaluation for sexuality education programs. The report offers illustrations of protruding approaches to the evaluation of sexuality education programs at various stages of design and implementation. Throughout the meeting researchers were encouraged to examine school environments, specifically policies and practices to address bullying, sexual harassment, discrimination and other violations of rights that detract from a conducive, safe learning environment.
