Educational Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Public Health, Development Studies or related discipline.

  • Excellent proven experience in delivering high quality Health and Nutrition programmes, with knowledge on the latest innovations and policy related dialogue in Bangladesh

  • The Inspirator position consider as youth professional and practitioner with relevant working experience with young people, youth leadership, creative activism and movement building. S/he should be strong networker, facilitator, coach and co-creator of organising, movement building and creative activism activities.
  • This position will be based in the partner organization at Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar and partly support to another partner organisation at Satkhira. At the project locations, s/he will be working closely with the hoisting organization staff and key youth volunteers and will be required to visit ActionAid Country Office to document and consolidate the work, and to report progress, share lessons learnt and follow up plans.
  • The Inspirator is expected to develop capacity of young men and women on social protection mechanism (Peace, Justice, Social Cohesion, GBV etc.) in fragile context of the team members of partner organization and local level Activista members. S/he is supposed to support for strengthening capacity of the partner organization to implement their strategies (advocacy and campaign) on thematic areas. S/he will have to enhance skill of the partner organization and Activista members to work closely with the grassroots community, capturing grassroots voices and documentation of change stories.
  • The Inspirator will motivate and develop skill of the local level youth Activista to maintain communication and linkage with local and national level youth platforms, association, and youth related government agencies and CSOs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the hoisting organisation (60% of time):
  • Facilitate weekly and monthly sessions on protection and resilience.
  • Hands on support to the selective Activista members to develop leadership to facilitate advocacy and campaign through analyzing local context
  • Provide training on digital literacy to the excluded young people specially women.
  • Hands on support to develop capacity of young people on PVA analysis.
  • Hands on support to the selected Activista members to capture inspirational stories of their interventions.
  • Hands on support to the young people to be connected with the various network, platform and organization.
  • Support Global Platform colleagues to design curriculum and facilitate trainings and coordinate actions with local youth hubs.
  • Work with the other partners, groups, organisations (20% of time):
  • Hands on support to the Activista member to be connected with solidarity network and other organizations.
  • Hands on support to the Activista to conduct online campaign through social media and networking.
  • Develop capacity of Activistas for using relevant tools of social protection mechanism and resilience.
  • Hands on support to the Activista members on practicing their leadership and developing their organizational practice.
  • Hands on support to the young people to conduct evidence based advocacy with relevant stakeholders.
  • Other tasks that are common for all Inspirators (20% of time):
  • Provide mentorship for young people who have attended trainings at the GP
  • Mentor and support young people in their creative campaigning and organising efforts at the GP youth hubs.

  • Participate in knowledge sharing networks like the Global Inspirator Learning network

International Rescue Committee (IRC) has a vacancy in the position of "Women's Protection & Empowerment Case Worker". The position works in the Women`s Safe Space part of the comprehensive/integrated women and girls Centers. Her/his role is to provide direct case management, individual counseling and group-based psychosocial activities in the space. Her/his objective is to provide age-appropriate case management services to female GBV survivors, including supporting them in assessing and planning for safety, assessing their own needs and developing a plan to address their individual needs and safely implementing this plan. These Centers will also provide essential SHR services to women and girls, so the Case Worker will work closely with the health team to ensure internal referrals and strong collaboration and adherence to GBV guiding principles.

Job Responsibilities

  • Reinforce adherence to the GBV guiding principles and women-, girl- and survivor centered support throughout all activities in the women and girls Centers and safe spaces
  • Adhere to the women-, girl- and survivor-centered support approach, the GBV guiding principles and the IASC GBV Case Management Guidelines (2017) throughout all GBV case management and psychosocial interventions for women and girls. This includes ensuring confidentiality of survivors, and respect for their wishes and decisions
  • Provide age-appropriate case management, including: assessment of women and adolescent girl's needs; provide basic, crisis counseling (and in some contexts further individual counseling); safety strategizing and risk assessing; development of action plans; support in pursuing services and support; safe, confidential and appropriate referrals in-line with the formal GBV referral pathways
  • Work in close, daily collaboration with the health team in the Centers to ensure women and girls have safe, discrete and confidential access to/from the GBV and health services via the internal referral procedures
  • Provide services to child and adolescent survivors of GBV, including case management as well as the best interest determination, age appropriate engagement and decision-making by survivors, and Do No Harm analysis
  • Lead age-appropriate and specialized group emotional services to vulnerable women and girls
  • Work with the WPE team to ensure response to the evolving needs of women and girls and their communities Identify concerns related to and support adherence to GBV referral protocols and GBV guiding principles, and bring these concerns to the WPE Response Officer
  • Maintain effective working relationships with relevant partners including community leaders and other implementing partners
  • Complete monthly activity reports, according to mentorship provided by the WPE Response Officer
  • Maintaining detailed and confidential case files in line with recognized standard methodologies

Educational Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's degree in any Psychology/ Gender or Women's Studies/ Social Work/ Social Science or other relevant subject

Experience and Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience needed in the field of Gender and/or GBV
  • Professional experience in counselling and implementing activities for women and girls or proven engagement in women's rights/groups - highly desirable

Prottyashi, A social development organization has been responding the Rohingya Crisis in Cox`s Bazar since the crisis started and currently is going to implement a project in the Rohingya community of Cox`s Bazar with the funding of USAID and in partnership with IRC. Prottyashi invites applications for the vacant position titled- Project Coordinator for the "Delivery of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) focused and gender-transformative life skills education programmes for Adolescents and Youth from the Rohingya refugee camps and immediate and surrounding host communities" Project.

Reporting

Project Coordinator will report to Director (Program) of Prottyashi. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization`s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Project Management:
  • Responsible to oversee all project activities in Rohingya communities and be the main contact point for the project, government and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring programme management and financial management functioning collaboratively and in compliance with accepted standards
  • Ensure timely implementation of the project activities as defined by the workplan.
  • Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, mentoring, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes etc
  • Assist to the project team and other stakeholders define, communicate and drive the strategic vision and goal of the programme
  • Design and participate in awareness raising activities aimed at promoting changes in attitudes and behaviours regarding SGBV/SRH

Coordination:

  • Maintain coordination with protection sector to ensure timely sectoral reporting, progress sharing and strategy setting.
  • Planning, initiating and reviewing external communication to promote project activities on various platforms.
  • Preparing presentation for the meetings and issues for the various level of coordination meetings and workshops.
Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare weekly/monthly progress report with the cooperation of other project staffs and submit to the Director (Program) of Prottyashi.
  • Assist Finance and Procurement Officer to prepare monthly financial report through matching activities implemented.
  • Prepare document of all events, program learning, process, and impacts of project should be sent to the central program team.
  • Nurturing relationship with the press to mobilize it as and designing content for proactive media campaign as well as for publishing in local and national media.
  • Collect field level evidence of project activities through photographs and send it to the central monitoring team of Prottyashi.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor/Master's degree in any discipline from any reputed university preferably in psychology, public health, sociology and social sciences.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

At least 05 years of professional experience in national or international organizations in coordinating similar projects. Should have 3 years of experience on managing, coordinating and implementing field level activities on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), prevention of Gender Based Violence (GBV) in the humanitarian response. Technical Skills:
  • Skill of photography
  • Must have professional writing and speaking capacity in English and Bangla, i.e. monitoring report, field visit report, event report, case study/story, press release, content writing, etc.
  • Proficient with MS office suite
  • Able to take decision in a timely manner, priorities and multi-task work seamlessly

Job context

  • The IRC Community Outreach officer will be responsible to implement community mobilization/Outreach activities in target area, also provide the technical support to the Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) for community engagement. Under the supervision of the Senior WPE Officer the Community Outreach Officer will responsible to ensure community participation at different forms, also supervise and facilitate Community Outreach volunteer activities as per the indicators and achieving objective. For the smooth running of the project the responsibility will be to identify gaps that could put women and girls at risk of GBV, managing all GBV Prevention and risk mitigation measures which includes community awareness and approaches to increase safety of target communities and women and girls who are at risk of GBV, also share timely feedback with Senior WPE officer/WPE Manager.
  • (S)he will facilitate field based activities and trainings for assuring quality of program implementation and also be responsible to strengthen community and government network at facility level. Job Responsibilities

Service Responsibilities:
  • The main responsibility of this position is to lead implementation of GBV outreach and community mobilization activities ensuring these activities are informed by target beneficiaries and correspond to their priorities, needs and safety.
  • Raise awareness on GBV and mobilise the communities to access the services provided at the WGSS.
  • Conduct training and dialogues with women and men community members, community leaders and key informants on the topics of GBV, women’s rights, gender equality in line with priorities identified by women and girls.
  • Provide Support on Data Collection, Assessment, Safety Audit, and community-based Protection Assessment. Assist in organizing and conducting surveys, assessments, and focus group discussions.
  • Conduct awareness session/ Court Yard Meetings/ Household Visits in the community using.

  • Plan for trainings to different targeted groups on GBV Flip Chart, Pictorial materials.

  • Plan and mobilize the community and other stakeholders to participate in key calendar events as a GBV awareness and information sharing platform.
  • Clearly explains the referral pathway and refer individuals to the Response team using the survivor centered approach.
  • Mobilize community members to create a protective environment and promote women and girls’ safety and dignity and mitigating risk.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Sr. WPE Officer and report on any issues encountered.
  • Respect the principle of confidentiality and do no harm when communicating with clients and partners.
  • Developing linkages and maintaining effective working relationships with other community services/agencies or working group partners.
Community Participation:
  • Implement community mobilization activities in the field.

About the project

Plan International Bangladesh is going to implementing a multi years project titled ‘Girls Get Equal: Integrated approach to end CEFM’ ‘in one district (Barguna) of Barisal Division. The overall objective of the project is to reduce the incidence of child marriage in 16 unions of two sub-districts within the district of Barguna. The project will reach 26,000 children and youth in Barguna District with interventions across the five outcome areas which are girls’ retention in school, youth economic empowerment, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), social norm change and child protection. The project will target the most marginalized adolescents and young women, will follow a clear tested graduation model to make the young women economically productive through effective training and income generating opportunities and socially empowered to achieve gender equality in the world of work. The Role

  • The Education Specialist will lead, organize and develop strategic directions for the education programme to ensure synchronized programme implementation.
  • S/he will oversee implementation process and quality of educational interventions according to developed guideline/standards.

Major responsibilities

  • Plan and implement SRH activities such as BEmONC services, Family Planning, Syndromic management of Sexually transmitted Infections, Menstrual Regulation, Post abortion care, Normal Vaginal Delivery, Clinical management of sexual assault and Health education working closely with RH and GBV team to access “hard to reach‟ and vulnerable beneficiaries to increase SRH service utilization in the WSS and IRC’s other facilities

  • At least 3 years’ clinical experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health at hospital level and/or preferably in complex humanitarian and/or emergency settings.

  • Post-Graduation Training (PGT) in gynecology and obstetrics will be added value.

Educational Requirements

  • Master's degree required in a related field of study in Education, Social Work, Gender & Women Study or other related field;

  • At least 5 year(s)

Additional Requirements

Required:
  • Only females will be considered for this position
  • A minimum of 5 years of related professional work experience with NGOs, INGOs or other Development sector;
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing program improvements that achieve results;
  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience in conducting trainings for adults and adolescents;
  • Experience adapting program and/or training content to fit different contexts;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs;
  • Strong planning, supervising, and program development skills;
  • Prior success working and building relationships with diverse groups of people;
  • Understanding of monitoring, evaluation, and process documentation;
  • Ability and desire to travel frequently to Room to Read program sites.
Preferred:
  • Significant experience working in Bangladesh with government schools, teachers, youth workers, and school-going adolescents
  • Experience with mentoring, coaching, and/or providing capacity building support
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global or regional organization
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiative
  • Effectiveness in working in a non-governmental organization that is focused on maintaining high quality work and low overhead
