The Center for Men and Masculinities Studies (CMMS), established in 2012, is a research based NGO registered under the Ministry of Social Welfare and NGO Bureau, Government of Bangladesh. CMMS has been working towards establishing equal rights for all by preventing gender based violence. It has been implementing a wide range of projects to educate men and women about women's and girls' rights, sexual and reproductive health and rights, parenting and fatherhood to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls. CMMS has pioneered the study of masculinity in Bangladesh and engaged men in its projects to act as the instrument to end violence against women and girls.

Vision :

As an organization CMMS is committed to fostering a world in which everyone, regardless of race, gender, or sexuality, reach their full potential as human beings. The Center aims at supporting and promoting action research that furthers the development of boys and men as gender equitable human beings. Therefore, CMMS seeks to build bridges among a new generation of researchers, practitioners, and activists who want to promote positive masculinities and contribute to develop gender equitable policies and practices addressing masculinities and challenging patriarchy.

Mission:

CMMS is dedicated to engage boys and men for gender justice addressing masculinities. Our mission is to develop an evidence based knowledge generation and sharing platform on men and masculinity issues bringing together researchers, practitioners, and activists to ensure gender justice.

CMMS Flourishes as Women Lead Organization:

According to the revised constitution of CMMS updated on 25th December,2018 more than 50% women has been enrolled in the significant positions which include- Executive committee, General Body, Governing body, Staffs and youth volunteer. The current Executive Director (ED) of the organization is also a Woman.
