About the organisation

Initiative for Right View (IRV) is a right based research and development organization working in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 2008. IRV aims for social, economic and democratic empowerment of disadvantaged and marginalized communities to ensure their basic needs and rights with their maximum participations and ownership. IRV always concern and sincere about the feminist principle and viewing the social world in a way that illuminates the forces that create and support inequality, oppression, and injustice. The organization has been trying to promote the pursuit of equality and justice.

The organization got its official registration on September 2008 under Joint Stock Company and registered under NGO Affairs Bureau, No: 2761. Since then, the organization has been working in Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Narail and Jessore district conducting development programs in various fields including human Rights and Good Governance, Environment & Climate Change, Economic and Gender Justice and Globalization and International Constraints.  

 IRV has been working with  Landless poor and marginal farmer, Hard core poor, Backward, vulnerable men, women and children, Indigenous community, Outskirts of people in forestry. To identify key barriers to our mission, and address them in the local, national and International contexts through developing grassroots capacity, raising community voice, participatory research, networking, advocating for policy shifts, livelihood development.

SRHR publications/research

IRV is committed to uphold the women rights and equitable distribution of social wealth.  The organization has been working on SRHR. IRV has been implemented a project on “Girls is not Wife” Reducing early Marriage through Youth Empowerment and Social Movement in Munda Community. IRV conducted a research on Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR) on Climate Justice. Due to poverty, child marriage and lack of access to information, ignorance causes adolescents to suffer from various health problems. IRV is working in urban slams for creating awareness, skill development and empowerment. Also is conducting policy advocacy to ensure sexual and reproductive health rights.
