Share-Net Bangladesh announces two recipients for Young Researchers Fellowship 2023

A number of proposals on innovative issues circling SRHR and Education were submitted in response to Share-Net Bangladesh’s open call for Young Researchers Fellowship Grant 2023. Among them the SRHR experts along with Share-Net Team has successfully selected two groups of deserving grantees for 2023.

The winning team of Ahmadullah Omee, Md. Abu Rayhan and Sabiha Jannat are Masters level students of Sociology department of the University of Dhaka. They are willing to research on ‘Exploring SRHR Education for Adolescents in Qaumi and Alia Madrasahs: A Study in Brahmanbaria District with an objective to explore the quality and availability of the contents of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in the textbooks of Qaumi and Alia Madrasahs and  accessibility and acceptability of the students, teachers and parents to the contents of SRHR. 

The other winning team are Masters students from the Department of Anthropology, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Abdullah Al Rifat and Sarana Chowdhury. They  will conduct a research titled ‘Access and Contribution of Male Adolescents in Influencing the Female Adolescents about Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR): a Qualitative Study in Urban Slum Sylhet ’. The objective of this research is to study the access and barrier to SRHR knowledge for male adolescents and also their contribution to female reproductive health.  

The research topics chosen by the young researchers are filled with innovation, fresh perspectives, and stimulating ideas. We believe that their research outcomes will provide support and inspiration for future researchers in the field of SRHR and Education.
