BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health (JPGSPH) at BRAC University has opened a unique opportunity for passionate educators and public health professionals. The school is inviting applications for the position of Teaching Fellow under its flagship Master of Public Health (MPH) Programme—an international, full-time 1.5-year course that has been shaping the next generation of public health leaders since 2004.

This vacancy is more than just a teaching role. It’s a direct contribution to global and national health priorities, including Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)—a critical focus for both academia and policy advocacy in Bangladesh and beyond.

🧭 Why This Role Matters

Bangladesh faces persistent SRHR challenges. According to UNICEF, 51% of girls are married before the age of 18, and adolescent pregnancy rate remains at 127 per 1,000 girls aged 15-19, among the highest in South Asia. Effective SRHR interventions require leadership grounded in critical thinking, ethical practice, and community-based learning—areas at the heart of the MPH programme’s pedagogy.

The Teaching Fellow role is central to delivering this impact. They will assist with curriculum design, coordinate field visits, manage student projects, and guide academic writing—all within a dynamic, multicultural learning environment.

Moreover, this role connects education with practice. From thesis supervision to facilitating real-time fieldwork, the Teaching Fellow helps students translate classroom knowledge into actionable public health responses—particularly important for advancing youth-centered, rights-based SRHR approaches.

📚 What the Role Involves

The Fellow will:

  • Support course design and teaching logistics

  • Facilitate classroom learning and student discussions

  • Assist with Moodle submissions, grading, and academic integrity

  • Manage communication with guest lecturers and technical setup

  • Provide academic support during thesis writing and internships

Proficiency in digital platforms such as Moodle, Zoom, or Canvas, and familiarity with data tools like Stata, is crucial. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Master’s in Public Health (MPH), with proven fluency in English and strong interpersonal skills.

💼 Contract Details & Benefits

While the position is initially contractual, strong performance can open doors to longer-term engagement. The compensation is negotiable and includes festival bonuses, earned leave encashment, health and life insurance, and performance-based increments.
