Turning Campus Conversations into Action: SNBD Announces New Event in BRAC University

University campuses are often where ideas take shape, identities are formed, and future leaders learn to speak up. This December, one such space will host a timely conversation that moves beyond discussion and into action. Share-Net Bangladesh proudly announces the commencement of INFIX × SNBD SRHR Campus Conversations: Ideas into Action, an event designed to bring together students, communicators, and SRHR practitioners at BRAC University, creating a rare platform where youth creativity meets social responsibility.

Organised by Share-Net Bangladesh, in collaboration with IABC | BRAC University’s renowned INFIX competition, supported by AMPLIFY CHANGE and hosted by Red Orange Limited, the initiative will run from 24 to 30 December 2025. The programme combines a student idea pitch competition with a concluding seminar and plenary discussion, all under the theme: Communicating SRHR for Change, with a sharp focus on campus culture and consent.

In Bangladesh, conversations around sexual and reproductive health and rights often remain fragmented, particularly within university spaces. Topics like consent, respectful relationships, bodily autonomy, and inclusive campus culture are frequently overshadowed by stigma and discomfort. While policies may exist on paper, everyday awareness and youth-led engagement often fall short. This initiative aims to address that gap by placing communication skills at the centre of SRHR advocacy.

At the heart of the programme is a communication-focused idea pitch competition designed for BRAC University students. Working in teams of two, participants will submit concise abstracts outlining an SRHR or consent-related issue on campus, their proposed communication or advocacy idea, the intended audience, and expected impact. From these submissions, up to six teams will be shortlisted to present their ideas in a live pitch session on 30 December. Each team will have five minutes to present and five minutes to respond to jury questions, allowing ideas to be tested for clarity, creativity, feasibility, and social impact.

The competition flows directly into the seminar titled ‘Communicating SRHR: From Classroom to Campus Culture.’ Rather than a standalone academic event, the seminar is designed as a reflective learning space. Student ideas and insights from the competition will be highlighted, followed by expert presentations on SRHR communication, youth leadership, and responsible storytelling. A moderated plenary discussion will bring together practitioners, communicators, and young voices to explore how strategic communication can shape safer, more inclusive, and consent-positive campus environments.

The day will conclude with an awards and recognition ceremony, celebrating winning teams while acknowledging the effort and thought invested by all participants. Importantly, the initiative does not end there. Selected teams will receive post-event mentorship in January 2026, supported by Share-Net Bangladesh and Red Orange Communications, to help refine ideas and explore opportunities for scaling or collaboration.

By blending competition, dialogue, and mentorship, INFIX × SNBD SRHR Campus Conversations: Ideas into Action positions youth not just as learners, but as communicators and change-makers. In doing so, it signals a shift from silence to engagement, and from ideas on paper to action on campus.
