Story Behind Srijonshil Gaibandha:
Srijonshil Gaibandha was established on April 22, 2019. It is a youth development volunteer organization formed with the aim of highlighting the heritage, culture, and potential of Gaibandha district. The history, rivers, agriculture, and cultural heritage of the district are unique, but for a long time were not adequately presented before the nation. The “Gaibandha District Branding Book” published by the district administration presented this missing identity in a new light. The book inspired new dreams and motivations among the youth, from which “Srijonshil Gaibandha” was born.

The primary goal of establishing the organization was to creatively present the district’s heritage, culture, and resources while building leadership, skills, and social responsibility among the youth. Initially, the journey began with programs on local history, cultural promotion, and awareness activities through digital media. Gradually, activities expanded into youth development, leadership, health and awareness, women and child welfare, educational support, environment and climate, disaster management, blood donation, and medical assistance.

Currently, Srijonshil Gaibandha is working as a vibrant creative platform that unites students and volunteers. Each initiative opens new doors of possibilities, where youth become the driving force of development, women gain rights and dignity, and children achieve a safe future.

In the future, the organization aims to establish Gaibandha as a branded district at both national and international levels, advance tourism and agriculture using modern technology, and make disadvantaged communities self-reliant.

An inspiration born from a book has now transformed into a movement. “Srijonshil Gaibandha” is a story of inspiration, a story of possibilities, and a story of the future where the power of change lies in the hands of the youth.

Registration:
Srijonshil Gaibandha, established in 2019, is a youth development volunteer organization registered under government laws and regulations. The organization is registered under the Youth Organization (Registration and Management) Act, 2015, and the Youth Organization (Registration and Management) Rules, 2017, with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Government of Bangladesh. The registration number is YOOA/Gai-98/Sadar-20/22, and the registration date is December 14, 2022.
In addition, Srijonshil Gaibandha is registered under the Department of Social Services in accordance with the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance, 1961, and Rules, 1962. The registration number under the Department of Social Services is Gai/Sadar/1541/2023, and the registration date is June 15, 2023.

Guiding-Philosophy:
The core guidance of our journey is humanitarian values, compassion, and social responsibility. We believe that education is not merely a means of acquiring information or knowledge; rather, it is a tool for empowerment, building confidence, and creating conscious citizens in society. Therefore, we work to develop individuals through education so that they not only become skilled but also responsible and creative citizens.

We believe that every person is a unique agent of change. Through volunteerism, youth can positively influence their communities and also drive the broader human society toward sustainable and inclusive development. Therefore, our ideal is collective effort to ensure equal opportunity, inclusion, and the establishment of a humane society.

Source of Fund:
Grants from local and international donor organizations. Contributions from volunteers and philanthropists. Support from partnership-based projects and events. Assistance from local institutions for social, educational and humanitarian activities.

Major Achievements till Date:

Educational Support:
We believe education is the main tool for social change. Scholarships for poor and meritorious students have opened new horizons for their future. The rural libraries and mobile library programs not only provided access to books but also created a reading habit and initiated a new trend of knowledge practice among rural children and adolescents. Capacity-building training for teachers has been organized so that they can teach in a more modern and student-centered way. Additionally, initiatives to raise awareness among parents have played a positive role in improving children’s overall education.

Culture and Creativity:
We view culture as a driving force in building society. Therefore, drama, poetry recitation, music, and art camps have been organized among the youth, where their talents have been nurtured alongside fostering a spirit of teamwork.

In particular, social issue-based theater and street plays have been arranged to raise direct awareness about issues such as drugs, child marriage and violence against women. These activities were not just entertainment but spread messages of social change.

Humanitarian and Health Support:
Standing beside people is our commitment. That is why countless lives have been saved through regular blood donation programs. We have also organized free health camps, where people deprived of medical facilities locally received direct services. In addition, SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) training has been organized to make young people aware of reproductive and sexual health, which has helped them lead a healthy and responsible lifestyle. Moreover, discussions on mental health have also been included, which stands out as a unique initiative in rural areas.

Social Awareness and Development:
We believe that change in society comes through collective effort. That is why youth-led anti-drug campaigns were organized, which not only focused on awareness but also included preventive activities at the family and community levels. Cleanliness and environmental conservation programs encouraged local people toward environmentally friendly behavior. To protect the beauty of the town, we launched the “Beautiful Town” initiative with young volunteers, which included not only cleanliness but also creative approaches such as wall paintings, tree plantation, and beautification.

Notable Achievements till Date:
Some of our initiatives have had a profound impact on society. Preventing child marriage and empowering women is one of our most notable achievements. Through this, countless adolescent girls have gained the opportunity to dream anew and rediscover their potential in education and various aspects of life.

Providing emergency relief to people affected by natural disasters such as floods and winter hardships has set an example of humanitarian responsibility. These activities were not limited to relief distribution only but also included post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction support.
Special education and support programs have been introduced for street children, orphans, and children with disabilities, so that they can be included in the mainstream of society. These initiatives have created confidence, hope, and the possibility of a better future in their lives.
In addition, various development and awareness programs have been implemented in collaboration with local administration, educational institutions, and youth organizations, which have made our activities not only stronger in the short term but also more sustainable in the long run.
