In a world where knowledge is power, the recently concluded Share-Net International Communities of Practice (CoPs) Learning Exchange Event in 2024 stands as a beacon of enlightenment and collaboration.

Held on the 28th and 29th of February, this two-day virtual event successfully facilitated cross-country learning among Share-Net International and its country hub members, focusing on vital Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) issues.

As the event unfolded, participants delved into the intricacies of implementing CoPs, gaining valuable insights from both facilitators and members. The event featured a spotlight on CoPs dedicated to vulnerable populations, particularly the experiences of LGBTIQ+ communities in countries like Colombia and the Netherlands.

Day two took a deep dive into sensitive SRHR topics, addressing issues such as abortion, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and contraception. Country features in the Netherlands, Burkina Faso, and Colombia shed light on the challenges and successes in addressing these critical issues within their unique contexts.

A significant part of the event focused on CoPs dedicated to menstrual health, recognizing the importance of breaking taboos and fostering open conversations. Country features from Burundi, Ethiopia, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh showcased initiatives and strategies for advancing menstrual health within diverse cultural landscapes.

The event concluded with a session that set the stage for the next steps in advancing SRHR, featuring discussions on good practices, challenges, and takeaways. Attendees had the opportunity to provide valuable feedback, ensuring a continuous loop of improvement for future initiatives.

As the Share-Net International community came together for this transformative event, the emphasis on SRHR, especially in addressing issues like GBV, menstrual health, and abortion, underscored the commitment to fostering a world where every individual has access to comprehensive and inclusive reproductive health care.

In the quest for knowledge exchange, promotion of knowledge use, and the establishment of a collaborative platform, the SNI-CoP Learning Exchange Event 2024 stands as a testament to the collective effort to champion Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights on a global scale.
