Scholarship in the Netherlands for Health Professionals

Bangladesh is one of the 52 countries eligible to apply for the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) Scholarship at KIT Royal Tropical Institute in Spring 2020. If you are a health professional, then apply for academic admission to the institute before 23rd September 2019, and then register for the scholarship between 5th September to 14th October 2019. 

In order to enhance effectiveness and sustainability of individual scholarships and TMTs, applications should be linked to the priority areas provided by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The priority areas set by the embassy for Bangladesh are: 

-Integrated Food and Nutrition Security (including water and climate change) 

-SRHR

Courses on Health Systems Strengthening

• Health Policy and Financing
  Course dates: 18 May – 5 June 2020
  An in-depth look at important issues and current debates in health policy, health economics and health financing, taking into account the diverse profit and not for profit systems.
• Rebuilding Disrupted Health Systems – developing context-specific strategies for health care policies, implementation and governance (E-Learning)
  Course dates: 30 March – 19 June 2020
  E-learning courses are the perfect solution if you want to expand your knowledge but unable to study in Amsterdam. This module can be followed via an internet connection from anywhere in the world!

Courses on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, and HIV and AIDS

• Sexual and Reproductive health and Rights including HIV and AIDS
  Course dates: 9 –  27 March 2020
  This course explores key principles of SRHR practice across a range of content areas. It also explores key considerations for SRHR and HIV policy and practices.
• Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights: Organising Effective Responses
  Course dates:  14 April – 6 May 2020
  This course builds on current evidence to critically identify and analyse responses across the health system, including emergency and fragile state settings. It also focuses on making services equitable accessible to marginalised groups and key populations.
• Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Policy, Governance and Financing
  Course dates: 18 May – 5 June 2020
  In this course participants become acquainted with the policy instruments, governance mechanisms and financial structures related to SRHR.
• NEW: Sante et Droits Sexuels et Reproductifs (in French)
  Course dates: 9 -20 Mars 2020
  This is a French version of the Courses on Sexual Health and Rights.

Courses on Disease Management

• Control Strategies for Infectious and non-communicable diseases
  Course dates: 14 April –  6 May 2020
  In this course a number of communicable and non-communicable (NCD) diseases are used as models to demonstrate different aspects and principles of disease control.
• Using Geographic Information Systems in disease control programs
  Course dates: 22 June  – 3 July 2020
  The course gives an introduction to the use of GIS in disease control programmes and how it can be used for disease control, focusing on the epidemiological assessment of disease burden and the improvement of programmatic planning and management.
