Violence against women

According to the Daily Star report, 87% married women in Bangladesh has experienced different forms of violence at the hands at their husbands. Gender-based-violence has been embedded into various social institutions and may occur in form of intimate or non-partner violence, forced early marriage, trafficking and honor killings. Speakers at September 20 round table (jointly organized by The Daily Star and UNFPA) expressed their concern and offered suggestions regarding these issues.
