Association of parent’s violent behaviour and Violence in adult life of children

This study done in Bangladesh utilised data from 2007 BDHS (Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey). It was found that men who witnessed violent behaviour between parents were more likely to exhibit violent behaviour. These two factors were also found to be risk factors for perpetration of IPV between men.

Marital communication and verbal skills in men were found to be protecting against perpetration of IPV.

The team of Researchers was led by Md. Jahirul Islam from Griffith University and consisted of researchers from University of Rajshahi, Griffith University, United Nations University, Nagoya University and Hue University.
