IDI 2017: Bangladesh ahead of both India and Pakistan

The World Economic Forum’s ‘Inclusive Growth and Development Report (IDI) 2017’ is based on 12 performance indicators, where Bangladesh ranked (36th), ahead of both India (60th) and Pakistan (52nd).

The report came out on Monday, Jan 16, mentioning that most countries are missing important opportunities to raise economic growth and reduce inequality.
In order to provide a more complete measure of economic development than GDP growth alone, the index has three pillars — growth and development, inclusion and intergenerational equity, and sustainability.
In South Asia, only Nepal ranks ahead of Bangladesh at 27th.
