Share-Net hosts CoP Meeting on Sexual Harassment

As a part of the ‘16 Days of Activism against Gender based Violence’ campaign, Share-Net Bangladesh hosted a Community of Practice Meeting on the topic ‘Sexual Harassment in Bangladesh’, where members from 18 organisations participated and shared their valuable opinions on the issue. They also shared the methods that their respective organisations are following to prevent any form of sexual harassment at their workplaces.

Dr Abul Hossain, Project Director, Multi-Sectoral Programme on Violence Against Women, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MOWCA) was present at the event as the Chief Guest. The session was moderated by Arnob Chakrabarty, Managing Director, Red Orange Media and Communications. Hans Angenent, First Secretary/Controller of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, gave a presentation on the policies of sexual harassment that were recently formed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr Annie Vestjens, First Secretary, SRHR and Gender, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, stated that the “16 days of activism is a good time to emphasise on these (sexual harassment) issues.”
